Cut carbon, grow your profits, and receive two free days of resource efficiency consultancy to help you do it!

Cutting carbon and being resource efficient doesn’t necessarily mean big upfront costs. On average, businesses can save 10% on their energy costs with low or no cost changes.

A 20% reduction in energy costs represents the same bottom line benefit as a 5% increase in sales in many businesses.

Lighting in a typical office costs around £3/m2 annually, but in a more energy-efficient office, it only costs around £1/m2 annually.

What you get from a free Resource Efficiency Review:

As an independent consultancy, we are not trying to sell you anything and will only advise on the solutions that are truly right for your business.

Our expert consultants will:
  • Undertake a comprehensive review of your processes and existing resource consumption.
  • Provide you with a report of recommendations, supported by quantified environmental and cost savings.
  • Prioritise the actions that give the quickest payback period and biggest savings.
A CO2Sense Resource Efficiency Review will show you where you can increase efficiencies within
your business, helping you to cut carbon and ultimately save money by reducing your energy, water consumption and waste.

The review is completely free to your business as it is part-funded by ERDF.

The business benefits of resource management: With energy and fuel prices rising, reducing your carbon emissions is an effective way for your business to cut costs and boost its profitability.

So if you’re a business located in the Yorkshire and Humber region with fewer than 250 employees get in touch today to see if you are eligible for two free days of resource efficiency consultancy from CO2Sense.

Green light for community renewables: Villages set to benefit from sustainable heating systems

GREEN LIGHT FOR COMMUNITY RENEWABLE ENERGY

Yorkshire Energy Partnership, the local sustainability company, has passed the first stage of a government funding application, securing £8000 to help residents invest in renewable energy.

The government’s Renewable Heat Premium Payment Communities Fund is an initiative which aims help communities secure lower prices for sustainable heating systems – especially important for villages where homes have no access to mains gas and rely on expensive fuels such as oil, LPG or electricity to heat their homes.

Villages included in the project include Sutton-on-the-forest, Tollerton, Brafferton, Crayke, Alne, Raskelf, Helperby, Linton-on-Ouse and Newton-on-Ouse, who all stand to benefit from new sustainable heating systems which are designed to significantly reduce heating bills and carbon emissions.

As part of the funding application process, Yorkshire Energy Partnership has already forged links with the Lower Swale Oil Buying Collective – a group of householders who work together to drive down the cost of oil by bulk buying the fuel.

An information event for local residents will take place at Helperby Village hall on 20th October between 10am and 3pm where there will be an opportunity to speak directly with suppliers, and receive independent advice from impartial energy advisors. Anyone interested in discounted renewable heating systems is urged to attend.

Sophie Smith, Renewables Coordinator for Yorkshire Energy Partnership, says:
“This project has the potential to help householders significantly reduce their fuel bills and their environmental impact. It will be of special interest to those living in rural villages which are off the mains gas network.  We will be working with the Northern Renewable Network to deliver the project - which is set up specifically to make sure people receive expert advice using locally-based contractors and discounted high-quality products.”

Results from the second stage of the funding application will be announced on 17th November.

Q: Where can you make savings on your heating bills? A: Get an energy audit to find out!?

Hold onto your heat: book a domestic energy audit.

Yorkshire Energy Partnership now offers private domestic audits for residents in North Yorkshire.

An energy audit will pinpoint exactly where heat is escaping from your home and help you with improving your energy-efficiency. You'll receive a report unique to your particular home and we can help you with any referrals for energy-efficiency work such as insulation.

We can also arrange for one of our team to visit your house with our thermal imaging camera.
